Alexis K Johnson
Alexis is a socially engaged artist and creative producer working in combined arts with over 20 year's experience developing a range of cultural festivals and events in the UK and Europe. Highlights include 'Passport 2 Pimlico' for Westminster City Council's Cultiral Olympiad, and Blue Train at the V&A and LOCOG. Alexis is currently developing Libertalia with Isabel Lagos, which will be a touring production that explores themes of Liberty. Alexis was a senior manager at Walk the Plank, where she founded their international learning programme, and is a trainer for the British Council in Lagos, Nigeria and Accra. Alexis has taught on a number of BA and MA Arts Managemnt courses.
Philip has worked in the arts in a number of capacities including: gallery director (Camerawork), curator, chair of board (London Filmmakers Co-op), arts consultant, reviewer (Art Monthly), and finally arts practitioner. Philip has exhibited widely both in the UK and internationally and had a number of CDs and LPs released. As a lecturer Philip was Course Director for the Arts & Festival Management BA at London South Bank University ,and taught a range of modules on the Arts Management MA at Birkbeck College (University of London).
Angela curates exhibitions for public galleries, commissions art for hospitals, and writes about contemporary art. Angela was curator at Kettle's Yard, and at the Ikon Gallery, her exhibitions have toured to: Angel Row Gallery, the Bluecoat, Camden Arts Centre, CCA, The Centre for Drawing, Chapter, Leeds City Art Gallery, Plymouth Arts Centre, and the Towner to name but a few. Angela was previously editor of AN magazine, and she has written on art and artists for books, catalogues, magazines and website. Angela was Senior Researcher in Art at Wimbledon School of Art, and visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster, where she taught the MA module Curating Contemporary Art.
A trained counsellor and therapist with a background in the arts Julia, was one of the first UK practitioners to integrate the arts into health settings. With lots of experience gained from working in the arts and health sector over a number of years, Julia is committed to sharing her knowledge and skills to help you take your own projects forward.
